Locs are a long game. What happens in the first few months decides how the next few years sit, so our loctician starts by reading the hair you already have rather than forcing a pattern onto it.

Starting from scratch, we map the parting to your own growth and density so the sections hold as they mature. Already loc'd? A retwist keeps the roots tidy without over-tightening, which is what thins locs at the scalp over time.

Good to know

Can I start locs with short hair?
Usually yes. Around two to three inches is enough to hold a coil. If yours is shorter we will say so at the consultation rather than start something that will not hold.
How often should I retwist?
Every four to eight weeks for most people. More often than that is the fastest way to thin your roots, so we would rather see you a little later than a little too soon.
Does a retwist hurt?
It should not. If a section feels tight while we work, say so and we will ease it. Soreness after an appointment is a sign of too much tension, not of a job well done.
Can I wash my locs at home?
Yes, and you should. We will show you how to wash and, more importantly, how to dry them all the way through, which is what stops the musty smell people complain about.
